You’ll want to exfoliate 24-hours prior to your appointment. We recommend utilizing a loofah, wash cloth, or exfoliating mitt to do so. After showering DO NOT apply any lotions, oils, or perfumes to your skin. We provide complementary micellar wipes to remove any makeup or deodorant before your we begin your appointment.

Shaving should be done 12-24 hours prior to your spray tan appointment. Shaving closer than 12 hours to your appointment time has the potential to cause streaks in your final tan.

If you’re looking to schedule other beauty services around the same time, we recommend that your spray tan be the final service to ensure optimal results. Manicures or pedicures should be done prior to your spray tan and any waxing appointments should be at least 24-48 hours prior.

Wear (or bring) loose fitting clothes to your appointment for after your spray tan.

The average spray tan appointment with Cincinnati Glow takes approximately 20 minutes. This includes both the consultation and application.

Our multi-certified spray tan technicians are trained in blending formulas to create a custom color specifically for your desired results, and will help you decide on the best customizations for you during your consultation at the start of every appointment.

Rinse with luke-warm water only, NO soap.

A slow rinse is best, utilizing your hands to push/remove the bronzer off your body. We recommend doing so until you see the water run clear for 1-2 minutes. Focus your attention to your legs, behind your arms, neck, etc.

The main cause for streaks is that the bronzer was not rinsed off in its entirety before stepping out of the shower and has stained the skin in the areas it remained.

We recommend waiting 12-24 hours after your initial rinse to begin using body soap/shampoo/etc.

You can begin applying lotion 12 hours AFTER your initial rinse . Moisturizing your skin is the key to prolong your spray tan, and doing so twice daily will give you the best results. Don’t forget to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, too.

The best time to get an airbrush spray tan for an event is 2-3 days prior.

If your event requires travel (vacations, destination wedding, etc) we recommend scheduling your appointment for 1-2 days before you leave.

DHA (the main active ingredient) is FDA approved and only penetrates the outermost layer of the skin. However, we always recommend that you consult with your physician first.

Only once the area is completely healed.

You cannot spray tan after a procedure unless you are completely healed. You should never tan with healing and/or open wounds.

Everyone’s body heals differently and at its own pace; therefore, we will always recommend that you consult with your physician first to determine the best time frame to begin/resume any spray tanning services.

No, it is not recommended to get a spray tan on sunburned or peeling skin.

Waiting a minimum of 14 days after your sunburn to resume any airbrush tanning service is safest and best for more optimal results. If your sunburn has resulted in peeling skin, it is recommended to wait at least 3 weeks after your sunburn has healed before airbrush tanning. Spray Tanning over peeling or damaged skin can result in uneven color and irritation. When in doubt, always consult your physician.

Although a “rapid” tan allows you to rinse at a sooner time, it will still take 24 hours for the tan to fully develop.

After 24 hours, if your tan has still not reached your desired level, please reach out to us via call, text, or email and we would be more than happy to assist.
